Chesterhill Produce Auction Buying Club

Be a part of our Chesterhill Produce Auction Buying Club! In the summer, we facilitate a buying club so that people who can’t make it out to the auction can still get fresh local produce. We buy produce at the auction every Thursday and prepare mixed boxes for members of the club.

Purchasing a box as a part of our buying club is a week to week commitment, which gives room for flexibility in the busy summer months. Boxes are ordered and paid for a week prior to when they are picked up. Pick-ups will be every Friday between June and October.

Buying club members can pick between 3 box sizes:
Half peck, which costs $10
Peck, which costs $20
Half bushel, which costs $30

half peck boxes being assembled

Members are welcome to purchase boxes of different sizes from week to week, or to purchase on a biweekly schedule. The nature of the buying club is flexible because we want to make getting fresh local produce work for you! We buy at the auction based on what is in season and plentiful. You can check out our seasonal chart to get an idea of the types of produce you’ll get each week.

Currently, we have one location for pick-ups, at the Rural Action office in The Plains. Pick-up times at this location are Friday from 10am to 4pm. The address of this location in 9030 Hocking Hills Dr, The Plains, OH.

We are also partnering with Shrivers Pharmacy in Nelsonville, to coordinate a delivered buying club. Check back soon for updates on other pick-up locations, and let us know if you’d like to be involved in coordinating a pick-up location.
