How to Make a Living with Specialty Dairy Products in Appalachian Ohio @ First Christian Church | Zanesville | Ohio | United States

Join us for a day of learning and networking with women leaders in the specialty dairy industry! In this event sponsored by Rural Action, SARE, and Women Grow Ohio you will learn the basics of animal care, infrastructure to create a simple business plan, marketing, other uses for dairy animal products, and much more. Leaders in the special dairy industry will address the unique issues of the industry and teach you how to develop a sustainable business model for a small farm or homestead. If you are looking to create a livable income with dairy products from goats, sheep, or cows, this workshop is for you! Listen to regional contributors – women leading their own successful businesses – from Blue Rock Station LLC, Creekside Farm, Integration Acres, Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch, Lucky Penny Creamery, Black Locust Livestock & Herbal, Highland Haven Farm, and Green Edge Gardens. These women will tell their stories and share their insights about how they got started, challenges they face in the marketplace, and various ways to produce and herd dairy animals. Join us in the beautiful Hocking Hills of Ohio for a multi-day forest farming intensive hosted by Rural Action and the Appalachian Beginning Forest Farmer Coalition! The goal of this weekend-long intensive is to help participants plan for, grow, and manage their forest farming business through peer to peer learning opportunities. This event will create opportunities for participants to learn directly from successful farmers, business owners, and educators who have decades of combined experience and expertise in the natural products sector.
